외떡잎식물 난초목 난초과의 여러해살이풀.
Big-flower lady’s slipper is a monocotyledons
and perennial plant belongs to Orchidaceae, Orchidales.
꽃의 모양을 복주머니에 비유한 이름이며
Its Korean name is derived from
its flower’s resemblance to a lucky bag.
요강꽃·작란화·개불알꽃이라고도 한다.
The plant is also referred to as ‘Yogang-kkot’,
‘Jakran-hwa’ or ‘Gaebulat-kkot’.
산기슭의 풀밭에서 자라며 5∼7월에  길이 4∼6cm의
It grows on the grassland of mountain side in May and July
붉은 자줏빛 꽃이 줄기 끝에 1개씩 핀다.
with 4 to 6cm long red and violet flowers.
포는 잎 모양이며 길이 7∼10cm이다.
Its leaf-like flower bract is 7 to 10cm long.
지금은 야생 상태에서도 보기 힘든 희귀 식물이며
It is a rare plant that is even hard to be found in the wild,
멸종위기야생식물 2급으로 지정되어 있다.
and designated as the second degree endangered wild plant.
