[Korean Native Plants at the Korea National Arboretum] Korean spice vibrnum
Korean spice vibrnum is a two meter tall
deciduous shrub found in Korea and Japan.
Vibrnum’s flowers are borne in mid-April and mid-May.
Its flower is hung at the end of old branches or
on a short branch which has a pair of leaves .
Leaves are oppositely arranged, egg-shaped,
reniform
saw-toothed on the edge and
have sparse star-shaped hairs on the surface.
Korean spice vibrunum and its flowers have
excellent ornamental
values so that it is commonly planted
in parks and gardens.
Many roots and root sprouts develop from the ground,
form a bunch of flowers and it has a great sprouting ability.
